Collaborate With Us
We welcome partnerships with academic institutions, government bodies, NGOs, and local organizations and even individuals that share our commitment to documenting and understanding India at local (district level).
Formal partnership here will mean a collective engagement to document one or more districts in entirety. If you're interested in using our framework to document (y)our district(s), please get in touch.

The portal hopes to assist local administration in better policymaking. It will help familiarize new bureaucrats and local government officials with the district they govern, giving insightful information for better policy planning, allowing for data-based management of the district. The portal is also likely to be of great utility for local entrepreneurs and businesses for richer market information. If the next level of development is hinged on small town aspirations, the portal will offer useful starting points.
Our Approach to Collaboration
We believe that small is beautiful (invoking E.F. Schumacher, or the Gandhian thought). We believe that decentralized, polycentric thinking is the desirable attitude to not only understand but also govern India. We work with local partners who are storehouses of knowledge about their place.

We are always on the lookout to hire hardworking, enthusiastic and positive people to join our team. You can write to us on cka@flame.edu.in with your motivation and attach one-page CV if you are interested. Positions are rolling generally, unless specified on this page.
At this stage, we are looking for people with skills in three broad areas of work, namely, (a) data analysis including coding in Python or R, or any other scripting language, with some experience on working with large-scale government datasets, (b) spatial visualization, including proficiency in GIS-software, and (c) researching and writing stories on cultures, history and anthropological accounts (this may involve travels). We are also in need of a program manager for running some of our internship/fellowship programmes, events and organizing some of our work.
We work with chaotic information, undocumented stories, and dirty datasets. Apply only if you like getting your hands dirty, and indeed learning and discovering in the process.
