Each station, led by a Senior Police Inspector, serves local communities, handling complaints and investigations. Officers are often addressed as “saheb” or “inspector,” reflecting respect in urban settings. Specialized units, including the Cyber Crime Cell, Traffic Branch, and Crime Branch, operate district-wide to tackle online fraud, traffic congestion, and organized crime.

According to locals, residents of the Mumbai Suburban district generally feel safe due to active police patrols and quick response times in areas like Bandra and Borivali. Community policing and public awareness campaigns strengthen trust. However, urban challenges like theft in crowded markets, such as Linking Road, and rising cybercrimes raise concerns. High-profile cases, like financial scams, occasionally highlight safety issues, but the police’s use of CCTV surveillance and cyber units mitigates risks. The judiciary’s role in resolving disputes reinforces public confidence, though delays in case backlogs can frustrate some residents.
